I grew up in rural Calhoun County, Florida, and have lived in North Florida for most of my 58 years. I earned my Associate of Arts degree in Business from Chipola College and have dedicated my career to serving people and building relationships within the communities I call home. Today, I’m proud to serve the Florida Panhandle as the owner of Ellis Agency Insurance while also serving as a bi-vocational pastor. Helping people, whether it’s through insurance or ministry, has always been an important part of my life. I was first licensed in Life and Health Insurance in 2001 and later became licensed in Property and Casualty Insurance in 2008. In February 2009, I opened Ellis Agency Insurance, and we officially became an LLC in 2013. We started from zero and have grown into a wonderful agency with a strong community presence that I am very proud of. I am currently licensed in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Texas, allowing me to help individuals, families, and business owners across multiple states with their insurance needs. One of the things that excites me most about this business is showing people how to get more coverage for less money. Many times, it’s simply a matter of taking the time to answer all the questions and making sure we fully understand a person’s situation before recommending coverage options. I truly enjoy helping people find the best rates possible, but I always remind clients that the goal is not to find the cheapest insurance. There is a big difference between cheap insurance and the right insurance. I never want someone to compromise proper coverage just to save a few dollars. My job is to help people understand their options and make sure they are properly protected. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to help people with a variety of insurance needs, including auto insurance, home insurance, life insurance, health insurance, and commercial insurance. Building relationships and earning trust is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. When I’m not at the office, you can usually find me playing golf or taking a nap in my easy chair with Smooch, my 8-pound Chihuahua with a 100-pound attitude. You can also find me preaching online and in the pulpit every Sunday morning. As a bi-vocational volunteer pastor, serving others has become a way of life for me. Community involvement is very important to me, and I currently pastor two small churches. At this point, we’re simply trying to keep these churches open and continue serving the people who depend on them. After spending most of my life in North Florida, I understand the values and needs of the communities we serve. My goal has always been simple: answer questions honestly, help people make informed decisions, and make sure they have the right coverage to protect what matters most.
